Liquid Car Polish vs. Regular Car Polish

October 14th, 2008

So what exactly is the difference between a liquid car polish and a regular car polish? Well the biggest difference of course is that one is liquid and the other one is typically a solid form. Typically the solid car polish is sold in a container, and the liquids come in a bottle.

Those are the obvious differences. However, the most significant difference that sets liquid car polish apart is that it is almost always made from synthetic polymers. Regular car polish, on the other hand, is usually made from carnauba wax. Neither is better than the other, although carnauba is the most natural form of wax, from which most wax and polish car care products are derived.

But the fact that liquid car polish is designed from synthetic polymers has its advantages. Many tests have shown that synthetic polymers cling to the clear coat surface better than carnauba. In addition, applying a liquid car polish is much easier than applying a carnauba, solid car polish. Most of the time you will have to do some buffing of some sort when applying a harder car polish. You can actually take this as a rule of thumb - the harder or thicker the consistency of the polish, the more buffing may be required.

Buffing is not a bad thing at all, but it just takes up time that most average car enthusiasts would rather not spend. Carnauba-based polishes typically require a bit more expertise than liquid polishes. The advantage to the carnauba regular polish is that it has a superior shine, and it can especially bring out the shine in older vehicle coats, and thus, it’s used a lot for car shows etc.

Overall, for ease of use, and if you’re under time constraints, definitely go with a liquid car polish. It’s also been proven that liquid polish can last longer in hot environments where a vehicle is exposed to lots of direct sunlight. So unless you’re getting an older vehicle ready for a car show, or really want to go the extra mile for some top-notch shine, it’s better to use a liquid car polish that does pretty much the same thing. Only experienced car care experts can tell the very slight difference in shine between a carnauba more sold car polish and a liquid car polish.

How To Use Nu Finish Liquid Car Polish

October 14th, 2008

Nu products according to most car care experts are a very good product and are very easily applied. This product will out perform Meguiars and Turtle Wax in almost any weather conditions. The shine will last and prevent the elements from destroying your vehicles paint clear coat.

Here is a basic set of instructions that will guide on how to use use the liquid car polish on your car.

  1. First , you must wash your car thoroughly, making sure that your vehicle is free from all dirt and dust. Definitely do NOT use a dish washing detergent for washing your car. Instead, it would be best to use Nu Car Wash, as it will prepare the surface well for the wax. Wash your car and rinse thoroughly of all soap and dirt, and then let your vehicle drip dry for five minutes, then dry your vehicle with a chamois or terry type cloth.
  2. Place a small amount of Nu car polish on a wet rag. Preferably one that is made of terry cloth. If you place a small amount of tap water on the your rag, as the wetness of the cloth makes it easier to spread over the paintwork, since Nu Finish is thick.
  3. Apply the Nu liquid car polish in a circular motions so as to cover every area you plan to wax. Do NOT polish the entire car and then attempt to wipe the polish off. If you get ahead of yourself and attempt to cover a large area, the polish may dry up a bit making it harder to wipe off. So it’s really best to work in small sections at a time.
  4. Once you’ve applied it to one section of your clear coat, let the wax dry for about 10 minutes. Then, have another clean terry cloth prepared to remove the polished from your cars surface. Remove the polish in the same circular motion, shaking the cloth every now and then to remove dried on polish residue.
  5. Repeat steps 3 and 4 until you have completed all areas of your vehicle surface.

When you’re done, your vehicle will shine like new! If you’re not impressed with the shine, just wait a few days. Most users report that the shine actually improves a few days after they have waxed their vehicle.
